City is awarded NFWF Funding

The City was awarded $308,000 from the Delaware Watershed Conservation Fund to enhance Holcombe Park, located in the Ely Creek Watershed within the Lower Central Sub-watershed of the Delaware River Basin. The three objectives of the project are to 1) Mitigate floodwaters, 2) improve wildlife habitat, 3) enhance public access to passive nature-based recreation.

Preliminary AINR Report is released

The AINR (Area in Need of Redevelopment) report is received from Clarke Caton Hintz, who had prepared the report by request of the City Council. The goal of the report is to examine the Closson Property and determine whether it meets qualifications as an Area in Need of Redevelopment. When an area is determined to be an AINR, the City Council has the authority to develop the site in ways that may not fall within the typical zoning requirements. Click here for more information about the redevelopment law.

Grant Application Sent to the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation

The City submitted a grant application to the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation for $308,000 for Closson Site Restoration. Our proposal was not selected for funding, but outlined plans for restoring the floodplain, adding trees and walking paths, and reducing stormwater runoff.
