Below are tips regarding helping safeguard your vehicles from Catalytic Converter thefts:

1. Park your vehicle inside your garage or in secure side yard.
2. If you have to park outside, leave on exterior lights or install motion detector lights.
3. Check into installing an additional sensor to converter’s that set off the vehicle’s alarm when the thieves attempt to steal it.
4. Ask your repair shop to tack weld the nut and bolt: it helps prevent most thieves from easily unbolting the assembly.
5. Paint and/or engrave your converter with your VIN #. Marked converters make them less valuable to thieves.

**Residents are advised to call 911 if they see someone underneath a parked vehicle, especially late at night or other times when there are little to no other people around. If anyone has information concerning the thefts, please contact the Lambertville Police Department at 609-397-3132.

ALL residents are reminded to be cognizant of any suspicious persons requesting any monies or personal information by way of, but not limited to, telephone calls, emails or regular mail correspondence. Please contact the Lambertville Police Department prior to responding to any of these potential scams.

**ALL residents are reminded to LOCK the doors to their vehicles and not leave anything of value inside the vehicle.
