Press Release 07/05/2024

Lt. Robert Brown reported on July 4th, 2024 at approximately 9:32 pm, Lambertville Police Officers were detailed to the area of the Delaware River behind the Lambertville Station Inn for an unknown issue. Patrolman Bereheiko arrived and located a large group of adults exiting the area of the Tow Path, engaging in a physical altercation. Corporal Wurpel and officers from West Amwell Police Department, Delaware Township Police Department, and Raritan Township Police Department arrived soon after and assisted with separating the parties.

Investigation of the scene revealed that the individuals were highly intoxicated, and all knew each other. The fight began on the Wing Dam, but the sudden rain storm caused the parties to disperse. While exiting the Tow Path, the altercation continued with pushing and shoving. All parties denied filing charges against one another. Five individuals were issued summonses for violating Lambertville’s Ordinance on Maintaining Peace & Good Order.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. One individual was transported to a local hospital for evaluation of his injuries.
