Cable Franchise Hearings

The Lambertville Broadband, Cable and Telephone Advisory Committee is currently reviewing the cable television franchise for Comcast Cable, which is up for renewal on October 5, 2025.

The Committee will be holding Hearings to take comments from the Public regarding Comcast’s compliance with its existing franchise, and we urge interested residents to come and express their concerns.

The Hearings will be held at the:
Phillip Pittore Justice Center,
25 South Union St., Lambertville, NJ 08530
On:
March 18, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. and
April 15, 2024 at 7:00 P.M.

The proceedings will also be viewable on the Zoom platform and residents may also submit written comments by April 30, 2024 to the City Clerk at 18 York St, Lambertville, NJ 08530.

Based on its review and the public comments, the Committee will be preparing a report for the Mayor and Council regarding Comcast’s compliance with the terms of its current franchise.

Please note that this review only addresses matters related to cable television that are within the jurisdiction of the NJ Board of Public Utilities (BPU) and matters addressed within Comcast’s existing franchise, approved by the BPU on October 5, 2010. In other words, issues related to basic cable installation, service quality, equipment, public, educational and government channels and service to
City facilities. This inquiry cannot address issues related to rates, fees,
programming content, wired broadband or telephone service provided by
Comcast, or internet services as they are outside state and municipal jurisdiction.
